Katya Kalyska (b. 1999) is a self-taught photographer. Her work is intuitive, honest, and full of emotion. She focuses on the raw and unfiltered rather than staged. She mainly works in black and white, as she believes it allows a deeper connection with the subject.

Through her ongoing project Hands, Katya explores human connection and why it matters, especially today. She notices a world where technology moves fast while people grow more distant from each other. Through photography, she invites reflection and opens a dialogue about the connections that really matter. She hopes her project will inspire people to value and cherish the closeness that keeps us connected.

Katya has participated in group exhibitions, including FotoArtFestival in Bielsko-Biała (Poland) in 2019, Art Minsk in Minsk (Belarus) in 2022, and LensCulture New Discoveries at Photo London 2025.

She is a recipient of the LensCulture Critics’ Choice Award 2024.
